The Digital Equity Accelerator, led by Aspen Digital and HP Inc., aims to close the digital divide by expanding access to technology, skills, and opportunities. In South Africa, the program saw strong results with 82 successful applications—more than other participating countries—supported by media coverage that reached 20 million people and a News24 campaign with over 5,600 reads.
Chosen for its rapid internet growth yet deep inequality, South Africa was the focus of a 2023 campaign built around the theme of inequality. Using PR, sponsored media, social outreach, and NGO partnerships, the initiative raised awareness and drove participation, reinforcing HP and Aspen Digital’s mission to build a more inclusive digital future.
