The Insight

Addressing Inequality in South Africa.

South Africa is one of the fastest-growing internet markets in the world, with over 60% of internet traffic on the African continent originating from the country. However, South Africa remains the most unequal country in the world, with a significant digital divide affecting many communities.

Aspen Digital and HP selected South Africa due to the clear challenges facing the country, a strong social impact ecosystem, and strong partnerships on the ground.

The Strategy

The 2023 South Africa campaign used the angle of inequality as a key subject to attract attention and drive applications. A combination of traditional PR outreach sponsored content on News24, organic social media, and outreach to NGO associations was employed to increase the reach and impact of the campaign.
